This piece was inspired by the many beautiful and huge historical and mythological pieces in The Louvre Museum in Paris, France and was created sporadically over a 3 year period between Paris and my Portland,Oregon studio. I wanted to create and capture the exact moment where Achilles struck Hector with the final blow and the feeling of that moment, with Paris in the right-hand corner too far away to stop it and Briseus behind Achilles also straining to stay Achilles hand, but alas, too late.
