This piece was inspired by the many beautiful and huge historical and mythological pieces in The Louvre Museum in Paris, France and was created sporadically by the artist over a 3 year span moving from Paris, to his Portland, Oregon studio. One important goal was to create and capture the exact moment where Achilles struck Hector with the final blow and the feeling of that moment. Paris is in the right-hand corner too far away to stop the killing blow and Briseus behind Achilles strains to stay Achilles’ hand, but alas, too late.
